Jewelry and Face Shape
If clothing is a woman's battle armor, then jewelry is her business card.
When it comes to choosing and matching jewelry, we often focus on how jewelry pairs with clothing, complements the overall look, or suits the occasion. However, we often forget the most fundamental and important principle of all — choosing jewelry styles that complement our face shape.
Everyone's face has its own unique characteristics. When selecting jewelry, you can match different styles of jewelry to your face shape to achieve the desired effect.
Oval face: Most styles and shapes are generally suitable, allowing for a wide variety of jewelry options. As long as the clothing and jewelry complement each other, you won’t go wrong.
Round face: Avoid choosing exaggerated, eye-catching round earrings or necklaces with rounded shapes, as they will accentuate the roundness of your face. It's best to opt for long pendants or necklaces that create a lengthening effect, similar to how a V-neck makes the face appear slimmer. Using elongated, line-shaped earrings or dynamic tassel accessories can help improve the overall proportions of your face!
V-shaped face: Most styles and shapes suit this face type well. Both bold statement necklaces and delicate, fine chains work nicely. However, I feel that large, drop-style round earrings would look even better. A simple pearl necklace is also a great choice!
Diamond face: Avoid wearing necklaces with sharp, pointed ends. Instead, opt for necklaces with soft lines or those with a string of pearls, as these can help soften the angular features of the face.
Long face: Avoid long or V-shaped necklaces, as they will make the face appear even longer. It's better to choose shorter, round necklaces with horizontal designs, as they create a shortening visual effect. We can wear thicker, close-fitting choker-style necklaces, or round-shaped drop earrings, which will add a rounded curve to the face and make it look softer and more feminine.
Square face: Avoid choosing square-shaped jewelry or pieces with triangular or pentagonal designs. Opt for jewelry with smoother, more rounded shapes to soften the angularity of the face (such as oval earrings or curved necklaces). This helps balance the lines of the face, softening its angles and creating a more curved, harmonious appearance. T-shaped necklaces or simple pearl necklaces are also great choices!
